THE RULES:

1) Provide a brief description of your novel before beginning. NO MORE THAN 5 SENTENCES.

Pirates, passion and whole lot of terrible life decisions. Living outside the law is nothing new to her when she’s best friends with pirates, prostitutes and brothel owners. Anne grabs life by the balls and drags a whole host of colorful characters along for the ride.

2) If your cast is fewer than 15 characters, you can’t use the same name more than twice. If your cast is larger than 15 characters, you can’t use the same name more than once.

THE QUESTIONS:

#1 Which character is SO into the holidays, they nearly cause a street-wide power outage from all their Christmas lights?

Pierre. He’s a man who appreciates beauty in all its forms and if you gave him access to electricity and Christmas lights he would turn his home into his own little Christmas-style Vegas.

#2 Which character attends the office new years party with ONE date…and goes home with someone else?

Anne. This one is an easy answer because she actually does this, except it’s at the Governor’s Ball and not a New Year’s party. Honestly, if you give her a mediocre date she’s going to find someone more interesting.

#3 Which character is more than happy to steal Hanukkah gelt from poor, unsuspecting children? [Note: Hanukkah gelt = chocolate coins]

Bayard. He would steal anything from anyone. He’s the wealthiest guy in town and is more than happy to take from anyone to stay there. Children are small, they’re probably the only thing he’d be willing to fight for treats.

#4 Fill in the blanks: I saw ____[character]____ doing a whole lot more than ____[verb]____-ing Santa Claus. They were full on ____[action]____.

I saw John Brown doing a whole lot more than befriending Santa Claus. They were full on making friendship bracelets.

#5 One of your characters decides to pregame before church and passes out in the middle of the Christmas service. Which character is it?

Jack. He tends to drink a bit when he gets stressed out and I feel like elaborate holiday rituals would stress him out.

#6 Which character hasn’t been seen since winter began because they refuse to deal with the snow?

Maggie. She dislikes extreme weather of any kind and if she could live in a temperature controlled bubble she would be totally down for that.

#7 Which character completely forgot about the holidays and ends up regifting to everyone?

Vane. He’s not much for sentimentality, but knowing the crew they’d probably plan a party and Vane would be like…fuck.

#8 Which character has such crappy luck, they only discover their potato allergy after pigging out on latkes?

Rogers. Bless his misguided heart. He tries…sort of. A lot of his life is a case of ‘what not to do’ if you want to have a successful career/marriage/life. Oh well, he kind of deserves it, but not as much as some other characters.

#9 The Krampus has arrived to punish your very bad characters. Which character is kinda into it?

James. He’s bad at avoiding trouble and punishment is never really a deterrent. I feel like he’d be down for a little Krampus action

#10 One of your characters should be on the naughty list, but has convinced Santa to clear their name. Which character is it, and what was their means of persuasion?

Lawes. He’s a bag of dicks in human form, but he has the authority of the King, so no one says too much about it. He’d probably either bribe Santa or threaten to arrest all the elves.
